In 1924 Germanow-Simon (GS) introduced the Flexo, plastic, watch crystal. This was the beginning of the popular use of plastic crystals. I don't think the collection in my hands is quite that old, but they're certainly vintage. You should see the old, rusty cabinet with tiny drawers that hold all the small envelopes. It certainly wasn't made last year!

Personally, it's the little envelopes that attracted me to this item. Very thin and fragile, often brown with age, they're the perfect addition to any vintage project. The crystals are fun, too. Some have yellowed with age and others are still clear. The exact shape and size of the enclosed crystal is outlined on each envelope.
