Detailed Description

6 stamps, as shown.

The stamps in this series were issued between 1911 and 1922. The accession to the throne of His Majesty King George V, on 6th May, 1910, necessitated the issue of a new series of postage stamps bearing the portrait of His Majesty. This image is a composite from photographs by Walter Barnett and Messers. W. and D. Downey of London, England. The King is wearing the uniform of an admiral.

PLEASE NOTE most of these stamps have very dark marks on them. I scanned the clearest ones so you could see the postage picture. Click on the scan to see an example of some with heavy cancellations.
